North Star 240
At NS240, we work tirelessly to ensure that the children get the best education within our specialised setting.
We feel it is important that the transition from primary to secondary school is managed with the anxieties and concerns of students carefully considered. Key Stage 3 therefore builds on the primary model of teaching and learning by cultivating a nurture focused learning environment designed to enhance student’s opportunities to interact with others in a positive way, something which they may have been unable to develop through their previous experiences.
In Key Stage 4 the students adopt a different way of learning as they enter their GCSE options classes and are taught in mixed groups. This then not only increases their knowledge of the subjects in which they wish to acquire a qualification but helps to build their social and personal development as they interact with different students and teachers. We have an excellent work experience programme which enables the Key stage 4 students not only to experience life outside of NS240 but also to make informed choices over their chosen career and further education plans. We are linked with colleges throughout Bristol ensuring a smooth transition to post-16 learning.
