Dear Parent’s and Carers
You will be only too aware of the rising levels of Covid-19 infections at the current time. The effect of isolation periods is now starting to have a significant impact on our staffing levels, alongside all the usual reasons that staff are sometimes unable to attend.
Children and many of the staff arrive at the same time in the morning, leaving us little time to deal with absences. This in turn can have an unsettling effect on the day and the pupils’ emotional state.
As a result the leadership team and the trust board have taken the decision to temporarily start the school day at 9.30am. This means any taxi’s will collect one hour later than usual.
It will allow us to re-organise staff and re-plan learning where this is needed. The school day will continue to end at 3pm. We will keep this under review and return to an 8.30 am start as soon as possible. THIS WILL START ON MONDAY 18th JANUARY 2021.
We anticipate your support in this action and thank you for this. It is a step we take reluctantly, and our aim remains to continue offering face-to-face provision where it is safe and possible to do so.
Please get in touch if you need to discuss this further.
Kind regards
Kaye Palmer-Greene
