Dear Parents and Carers

Further to my letter last week, we have had several more confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the school setting and as a result do not have the staffing levels to safely have all students on site.

We are asking that students in the following classes do not attend school on these days:

Tuesday 22nd March Hercules (Mr Sutton) and Scorpius (Mrs Orumlu)

Wednesday 23rd March Perseus (Miss Hennessy) and Orion (Mr Marsh)

Thursday 24th March Taurus (Mr Palmer) and Aquila (Mr Hobson)

Friday 25th March Gemini (Mrs Bowen) and Andromeda (Miss Clarke)

Tutors will be in contact to arrange remote learning for these groups.

Currently, the school remains open to all other students and we will let you know as soon as possible if that situation changes.

If your child develops symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), please keep them at home and order a PCR test (https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119). They should remain at home at least until the result is known and they are fever free (without medication) for at least 24 hours.

  • If negative, the child can end self-isolation and return to school once well.
  • If positive, the child should isolate as a positive case (see below)

People who test positive for COVID-19 should self-isolate at home until they are well enough to return, no longer have a temperature and either:

  1. 10 full days have passed, or
  2. They have produced two negative LFD tests on consecutive days, with the first taken no earlier than day 5.

You can seek advice on COVID-19 symptoms from the nhs.uk website. If you are concerned about your child’s symptoms, or they are worsening you can seek advice from NHS 111 at https://111.nhs.uk/ or by phoning 111.

Further information is available at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this period of the pandemic. I know that it is difficult when we have to ask children to learn remotely and I do want to assure you that we are doing our very best to keep this to a minimum.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Yours Sincerely,

Jo Grayson
